Who does Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri serve?
CCSOMO serves the poor and vulnerable of all faiths and socioeconomic backgrounds throughout the 39 southernmost counties in Missouri.

Do you have to be Catholic to receive services through Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri?
No. You do not need to be Catholic to receive help through Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri. We are dedicated to assisting the poor and vulnerable of all faiths and backgrounds. The great majority of our clients are not Catholic.

Do you have to be Catholic to work at Catholic Charities?
No. You do not need to be Catholic to work at Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri. Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri welcomes people of all faiths who share in our mission of service. Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri provides equal opportunities to all individuals regardless of religion, race, gender, age, national origin, socio-economic status, veteran status or disability, at all levels within our organization.

Do you have to be Catholic to volunteer with Catholic Charities?
No, you do not have to be Catholic to volunteer at Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri. Our staff and the people we serve are of all faiths and beliefs.

Does a part of my contribution go to the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau?
No. Your gift does not go to the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau. Your gift to Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri is used to support the mission of the ministry, clients, and the programs of Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri. We are a separate legal corporation from the Diocese.

How is Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri related to the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau?
Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri is a separate entity apart from the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with our own completely separate staff, departments, policies and procedures, and bank accounts.

I donated to the Diocesan Development Fund (DDF). Is that the same thing as giving to Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri?
No. Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri does not receive any funding from the DDF. Once a year Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri receives funding through a Second Collection taken for Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri at all parishes in the diocese.

Is Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri part of a national organization?
Yes. Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri is a member and affiliate of Catholic Charities USA, one of the nation's largest private networks of social service providers. Catholic Charities agencies and institutions nationwide provide vital social services to people in need, regardless of their religious, social, or economic backgrounds. Catholic Charities USA supports and enhances the work of its membership by providing networking opportunities, national advocacy and media efforts, program development, training and technical assistance, and financial support.
