CCSOMO Receives National Reaccreditation
Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri (CCSOMO) recently achieved reaccreditation through the Council on Accreditation, following their first recognition in 2019. The accreditation process evaluated all aspects of CCSOMO’s programs, services, management, and administration.
Accreditation involves a detailed review and analysis of an organization’s administration, management, and service delivery functions against international standards of best practice. “Over the last year, our leadership team met regularly to review policies and practices both administratively and for services to our clients,” explained Susan Cox, Chief Compliance Officer. “A months-long team effort to compile written evidence of compliance with accreditation standards culminated in an on-site visit during which evaluators spoke with stakeholders including board members, staff, community partners, and clients.”
Established standards driving accreditation ensure that services are well-coordinated, outcomes-oriented, and provided by a skilled and supportive workforce. Accreditation demonstrates accountability in the management of resources, sets standardized best practice thresholds for service and administration, and creates a framework for ongoing quality improvement.
Ken Palermo, CCSOMO CEO, noted the importance of the renewed recognition, “Reaching reaccreditation means a lot to our teams and stakeholders by reinforcing credibility and legitimacy to our agency processes. Ultimately, we’re better positioned to build capacity to serve the vulnerable and in need across southern Missouri.”
